About Our Parish

All Are Welcome in Christ

We are a welcoming parish.

Whatever your present status in the Catholic Church, your current family or marital situation, your past or present religious affiliation, your personal history, age, background, race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, or self-esteem, you are invited, welcomed, accepted, loved, and respected by the community of St. Matthew Catholic Church.

Whether you are new to our parish or have been with us for some time, you are always welcome. This website features the many ministries, parish activities, and services that our parish has to offer.

Here you will find information about Mass times, the sacraments, faith formation, parish ministries, support services, and more. You can also explore our calendar of events, connect through our social media pages, view the parish directory, or complete the Contact Us form under the About Us tab to reach staff, clergy, or religious directly.

A Eucharistic People

As Catholics, we believe the Eucharist, Holy Communion, is the real presence of Jesus Christ, who lovingly offers Himself as spiritual nourishment in every celebration of the Mass.

This intimate encounter with our Lord strengthens us spiritually, draws us closer to God, and increases our capacity to love one another more fully and to live in Christian community together.

One Parish Family

Our membership has grown over the years from a few hundred parishioners to more than 11,800 registered families, shaped by the growth of Catholics moving to the South from across the country and around the world.

We embrace this diversity, welcoming parishioners from every region of the United States and many other nations. We believe each person is uniquely created by God, a living expression of His love, and together we are called to be the Body of Christ, serving God, one another, and the world.

A Faith Lived

St. Matthew is an engaged parish, connected in Christ and moved by the Holy Spirit. We believe in a living faith, expressed through active participation in more than 100 ministries that support the spiritual, social, and service life of our community.

Our ministries are grouped into four general areas: Liturgy and Worship, Education and Faith Formation, Stewardship and Service, and Parish Family Life. These, along with additional programs, can be found under the Ministries tab on our homepage.

Stewardship is an essential part of parish life, and we are called to give generously of our time, talent, and treasure in service to the Kingdom of God.

From Humble Beginnings

St. Matthew Catholic Church began in 1986 with just 600 parishioners gathered in a local theater and has grown into a vibrant community of over 11,800 registered families. From humble beginnings and creative worship spaces to a thriving parish campus, our story is one of faith, perseverance, and joyful community life. Learn more about our journey and the people who helped shape it on our history page.
